ACCOMMODATION

All rooms at Touriandi are single accommodation. There are two sections in the facility “Jacaranda Wing” and “Willow Wing”. (see diagrams below)

All of our rooms feature:

  • Private ensuite bathroom.

  • Bed and mattress.

  • Ample storage.

  • TV Socket

  • Individual split system air conditioning

  • Emergency call buttons

Residents are encouraged to furnish their room with personal items and furniture to give their room a personal touch.

JACARANDA WING

This wing contains Activities room, dining room, lounge and 17 bedrooms.  All rooms have internal and external access. Each room has an adjoining verandah area. Pot plants and outdoor chairs are acceptable and encouraged, provided they do not impede walkways

WILLOW WING

This wing contains a combined activity, dining and sitting area overlooking an attractive secured garden.  There are also 11 bedrooms with ensuites.  A Care Office and Servery (for preparation of breakfast & teas) complete this wing. This is a secure wing with key coded access.

SERVICES

CLEANING

Rooms are cleaned once a week by our cleaning staff.

LAUNDRY

Laundry and ironing services are provided. Items of clothing will be clearly marked. Dry cleaning can be arranged at the Resident's expense.

TELEPHONES

Each room has its own telephone.  Rental of $20.00 (GST inclusive) is payable each month to the facility, plus the cost of calls at standard rates. 

ROOM MAINTENANCE

Replacement of light bulbs, small carpentry jobs, and picture hooks installation is carried out by a maintenance person.

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

Electrical appliances such as kettles, toasters and microwaves are not permitted in residents’ rooms. Media e.g. CD/Ipod/DVD player, radio, television are acceptable. Refrigerators are only permissible at the discretion of Management. Electric blankets, and/or hot water bottles are not permitted.  Heat packs can be provided by staff. 

All electrical items are tagged by an accredited electrician on an annual basis and when new items are purchased.

On entry Touriandi will organize the inspection and tagging of all electrical items bought in by the new resident. Residents or families need to inform the facility if they have new electrical items. The use of double adaptors in resident rooms is prohibited. 

GARDENS

Residents in the Jacaranda wing are permitted to cultivate and maintain small garden plots adjoining their rooms and tend to their own pot plants (we ask that all pot plants in Resident's rooms have a saucer or protection underneath).  The Gardener is available to assist when necessary.  Residents in Willow wing have access to a secure garden with a pleasant out look.

PETS

Touriandi does not have the facilites to accommodate full time pets, but are happy to permit visits to the facility.  Please speak to the Manager for further details.

MEALS

Three meals a day are provided, plus morning and afternoon tea.

Breakfast - 8.00am   
Morning Tea - 10.30am
Lunch - 12.30pm
Afternoon Tea - 3.30pm                   
Dinner - 6.00pm

Meals are served in the Communal dining areas  but residents may have meals in their own rooms if  unable to go to the dining room. Family and / or representatives and friends are welcome to dine with the resident for a small fee (booking essential).  Morning and afternoon teas are complimentary.

Meals are planned on a rotational basis and special dietary requirements are catered for. The menus are endorsed and reviewed by a Dietitian. Resident’s likes and dislikes are always considered. Barbeques and social gatherings are organised to give variety. Touriandi Lodge has an effective food safety program in place which is endorsed by an independent certified consultant and is licensed to service meals to ‘Vulnerable people in the Community’. We operate under the guidelines of the NSW Food Authority with audits conducted by this authority annually. In line with our requirements to meet standards families/visitors wishing to bring items of food into the resident need to speak to staff to determine the most effective manner in which to transport these items.
 
It is necessary at all times for families or representative to inform Staff when a resident chooses to be out for a meal or away from the facility for a period of time.  

A fruit basket is available to residents at all times located in the dining room.
